Double Tarot Goodness for the Week of March 7th-13th: The Stork (Aces), The Switch (5 of Wands)

Weird week ahead.  Weird, weird week ahead.

But then March is a pretty weird month, so I await weirdness from it with open arms and a sense of humor, you know,... lest I cry.

Out here in the North East, we shift from winter to spring this month (at least on paper and according to those hopeful for warmer weather), so temperatures swing up, drop down.  It's cold, it's muggy, it's comfortable.  We wear coats, we wear jackets, we wear nothing (kidding).

Needless to say, Mother Nature is moody as f*ck and so are we.

March is far from a mild month, anyway, as it is unpredictable even weather-wise.  Because of that unpredictability, we are bestowed with little and big surprises which we can consider adventurous or annoying/frustrating-- take your pick.

That said, if I were you, I wouldn't laze around, lollygag, and sleep through March no matter what anyone else says.  We have a good mixture of pleasantries and un-pleasantries on the horizon.  I'd sleep when I should, hang onto my coffee, and remain alert and productive all month.  Make arrangements early, start my shift early, end my day at a reasonable time, etc.  We won't have the luxury-pooh of procrastinating and daydreaming, folks.  Our work will accumulate and potentially suffocate some of us.  Many of us will even require an extra set of hands in our work, or we'll turn into cranky ol' farts.

I plucked two cards from my deck for this week.  Why.  Well, because I plucked the damn Stork (Aces) again, and I'm sure that the cosmos aren't trying to tell me to have a baby already or that I'm having a baby soon.  I'm not even pregnant (but my sister-in-law was, and she just delivered healthy, radiant twins, yay!).

As I'd previously mentioned, too, the Stork doesn't just indicate the arrival of babies.  The message of the stork appears to be deeper than that considering it's come up more than once in a short amount of time.  Probably because we're not listening or "getting it", and I'm not at all shocked.  This card asks that we prepare for the next phase or a new opportunity or surprise ending that leads to a surprise beginning.  That we prepare for experiences that, similar to having (a) child/ren, will alter the courses of our lives for years to come.  Think: the signing of a petition or contract, an offer, the start of a new relationship, a promotion, a career change, a boost in income or salary, a trip, a mistake, (irk) a disaster, etc.  Any or all of this will happen with our without our approval, at the drop of a dime, and things will feel brand new.

We are surrounded by enabling influences here.

One thing I've been noticing in my own life is that March has presented me with challenges like the loss of my mother and other loved ones.  For whatever reason, March has been a month of significant loss, with October and January running closely behind it.  Is it a seasonal thing?  A coincidence?  I don't know, but these experiences have affected, and will affect, me for years.

The Stork is not all somber or scary, though.  It bestows us with very big, very brilliant ideas.  Ideas inspired by a BIG deal or a BIG problem that needs to go away.  Ideas that affect the collective, reach the world, possess the capability to change a certain course.  Ideas that attract investors.  The Stork, in addition to the arrival of babies and ideas and boosting news, represents inventiveness and leadership.  Yes, the Stork is a cute little pioneer who often winds up successful due to action, persistence, enthusiasm, pride and confidence

NOW WE"RE THINKING.  Halleluiah.

Confidence is key here.  If we're not confident about our ideas, if they exist solely on the basis of outdoing someone else, they're simply not going to survive.  (Just ask a few real estate brokers in my town for proof.)  So make sure that you can strut your stuff and that you do stand out

Also, try doing one thing you've wanted to do for some time today, right now, not later or tomorrow, and see what happens.  Whether it's de-cluttering, moving something out to the garage or down into the basement, or rearranging photos on a wall, it'll mean something to you.  It may even show you what symmetry looks like (it's a beautiful thing). And don't get discouraged if you don't finish something in the next hour.  There are projects that take baby steps to complete, you know.  Rome wasn't built in a day.  Some projects include several chapters.  And starting something is the first and most important step for now.

Remember that one man's crisis is another man's opportunity (and vice-versa) as well.

The Stork reminds us to seriously reconsider attempting to change something we're not involved in.  It is easy to assist someone on the other side of the planet with money, for instance, because we're not participating in any kind of labor or sacrifice.  We're just signing a check and mailing it, but not actually helping to resolve an ongoing problem like hunger, and other problems ultimately triggered by overpopulation plus unpreparedness, and that's the truth.

Look, I'm all about donating to a good cause.  I donate to good causes whenever I can.  But they're all close to home, and sending money is absolutely not all I do.  I send needed items as well.  I donate time and effort when it's needed.  And over the course of the past eleven years, for example, among other things, I've read Tarot for individuals around me who were undergoing immense, overwhelming, debilitating transitions and shifts in their lives free of charge.  If you read Tarot right, and are into reading for the right reasons, you're more than a reader-- you're a therapist.  And something like a therapist is essentially what I became a decade ago... although I prefer to think of myself as a genuine spiritual coach.

The reason I elected to volunteer my services at the age of nineteen, up until my age of thirty-one, had to do with my experience with an amazing but somewhat pricey Tarot reader in New York City. In 1999, she saved my life, and that's an understatement.

(I'll write more about that later.  Promise.)

Since then it became my purpose to pass forward what that reader did for, and with, me but for cheap because this line of spiritual work is not about financial gain in my world, it is not my livelihood, and "clients" always want to give something back to me.  So a good number of you are basically treating me to a coffee and a scone now.  You ought to be proud of yourselves.

And here we are, all of us surviving and thriving, even in little ways day by day, aren't we?  Thank you for that.  Really.  Your good news is always my good news.

Support an endeavor you want to keep alive, someone you want to watch bloom, someone or some project that will support others in a much-needed way, not some mouthy, whiny dillweed who doesn't appreciate her throne.

The Stork has wound up side-by-side with the Switch (5 of Wands).  Clearly we've got a mixture of interesting, controversial, entertaining shit happening this week.  Ups and downs.  Moods are up and down.  Weight is up and down.  Sex is...

Good news with a side of repercussions for our or others' actions, maybe?  A sticker for a job well done on something that has nearly drained the very life out of us?  A prize, gift, winning, donation or encouraging message that leads to more work and a fuzzy feeling in our hearts, not so much playtime and a swim in our egos?

No reward will truly feel like a reward without work.  If you're sitting on your asses and charming others, all the while taking up their ideas during conversations and passing them off as your own, no matter how pressed and distinguished you think you look, you're not doing any work.  No, you're pretty much a succubus and this behavior will catch up with you.

No pain, no gain.

Nothing will get done without work, without trying, without risk-taking.  Sorry.  And those of us who mindlessly surf the web all day for porn and drink all night will suddenly feel the pain associated with real work while buckling down and doing something involving movement and thought.  And it will hurt in some way.

Many will participate in group activities.  It may not be easy to come together, even work together, but a job, task, assignment, game at hand needs to be done/played by a team, not just an individual.  There will be a time to work alone, this week, but there will be a time to work as a group.  We'll all deal with this reality like big boys and girls.

Those of us who hadn't exactly played by the rules, or who have socialized or worked with folks who haven't exactly played by the rules, may be slipping into rough waters.  It doesn't matter who started what.  Sorry, but even if you did nothing wrong, your associates or underlings or "friends" may have and so you're almost as guilty as they are.

What we might not want to do this week is participate in a fight or argument.  Hard to do considering the frustration and irritability in the air, as well as static in most forms of communications (hint: write a letter).  Even in the midst of standing up for ourselves, we could be held accountable for an eruption.  If your life is at stake, fine, defend yourself.  Otherwise, leave idiots alone.  They are not worth any trouble.

Finally, winners will be standing alone.  In other words, just when some of you think you've gotten one over on someone else, just when you're laughing your deeds off alongside your braindead friends at someone else's expense, just when you think you've won a secret battle of sorts, you'll find you're losing at a major war or something much, much bigger than you.

Have an excellent week.
