Astro Nuggets: Oh My Dogg!
I like very few celebrities. As in about twenty of them.

When I say 'like', I mean admire. And when I say 'very few celebrities', I naturally include Mr. Snoop Dogg.
With so much drama in the LBC, it's kinda hard being Snoop D-O double-G... Ever since the 90s, when "Gin and Juice" graced national airwaves, I've sensed a connection between myself, my younger brother and Snoop. He was in everyone's faces, but he didn't try to be. He just was, a natural through his lyrics and videos and shenanigans and among the few artists/rappers (R.I.P. Biggie and Tupac) we'd listen to after school. It was how we rolled back then, I guess. It didn't take much to entertain us. No, we didn't sip on gin and juice or smoke the ganja. Well, maybe my brother and his friends did. But, until this day, that doesn't keep me from believing that marijuana ought to be legalized for all of America to enjoy. Uh, medicinally, of course. Because, like Snoop says, the world would be a happier place if everyone puffed the magic dragon. And I might require a joint in my sixties to ease the pain of a crappy hip.
The other night, I tuned into TBS and watched the George Lopez show. I'm not a fan of talk shows, but I love late-night talk shows and the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien and the Daily Show are my top picks.
Anyway, George Lopez, as I'm beginning to discover, is worth a watch every now and then. He's animated and charismatic and happens to interview interesting guests.
More importantly, Lopez digs Snoop Dogg as much as I do. Snoop was a guest on his show that fateful night. Yup. Highly successful businessman, actor, producer, entrepreneur, football coach, weed-smoking, joke-cracking, rags-to-riches, polished from head-to-toe Snoop. I hung onto his every word. As usual. And I got to wondering... What was it about this guy that grabbed my attention? Many celebrities bored me. So, what was it about Snoop Dogg that's not only retained my attention over the years but received the praise of every single person in the audience?
I knew that we learned the most from our opposites. But I realized that natural kinships, whether real or unspoken, were formed by those with similar upbringings and common interests. Add to this an interest in Astrology and gift for research, and I dug up a little birth data to further my understanding of this celebrity and educate myself with his leadership qualities. Maybe something in his chart resonated with my own as well.
Snoop Dogg was born Cordozar Calvin Broadus on October 20, 1971 at 12:00 PM in Long Beach, California, USA. Immediately, we note his optimistic, warm and creative personality, an ability to lead and the talent to take on any role he wishes thanks to his sun in Libra. That Libra-Sun is also in his tenth house making for a wise, diplomatic negotiator with hefty backing from mature/older types. Snoop is noticed in his rattiest clothing and from behind the scenes. He can pursue a position in politics if he wants with his views on justice and stage presence. But even if not, rest assured that Snoop will remain influential through his acumen and knowledge of the importance of teamwork. Snoop is cooperative but also born to lead-- and lead fairly-- beneath this sign, not to mention that he's managed to balance numerous projects and wear many hats throughout his lifetime. A Scorpio moon aids him not only intuitively but it helps him attract long-lasting missions (and supporters) of value. He comes first and his mistakes have been his golden opportunities. Snoop's soul is an old, magnetic one and his personal life is just that. Personal. He adores the women in his life, including his mother, grandmother, wife, etc. He keeps from complaining and his method of revenge involves doing more and living better than the patsy that fouled him-- secrets to success that cannot be beat. But he won't air out the goods or details. Besides, Scorpio Mercury and Venus wouldn't have it any other way. His loved ones (whom he hand-selects) are well taken care of, they take good care of him, and that's all we need to know about that. Don't take advantage of his generosity, don't go after what is rightfully his, don't be pushy or a liar, and you'll be straight. Can't take away what he was born with, anyhow, folks.
Snoop's professional goals and successes, however, are another story entirely. All come to light through a Jupiter-ruled Sagittarius ascendant. This can't be helped. Jupiter is the biggest planet of our solar system and jam-packed with the energy of experience. As such, Snoop often bursts onto the scene an adventurous man full of surprises and wisdom, and the sharing of his adventures, surprises and wisdom motivates him to keep on trucking with new endeavors. He can't hide for long, and neither can his facial expressions. Each time we see him, Snoop is bigger, more powerful, and, while he appears as if he doesn't really do much to achieve success, trust that this man stamps his work with overtime. He just won't announce that he's tired or had enough is all.
It's not hard to tell that Snoop's destiny is to entertain, humor and motivate others. He understands and is understood in a world in which it is easier to do one or the other, and it is this balance, this accomplishment, that results in his fans relating to him. Snoop appreciates his fans in return, an exchange that only fosters his popularity, and he spreads the beauty of diversity through his attempts at speaking the Spanish language (as an example).
Expand, he does.
Though he is sometimes clumsy in speech, Snoop still manages to pick himself up internally until he finalizes his opinions slowly, truthfully and graciously. He's neither rude nor obnoxious and he is aware that his upbringing and challenges have lead to his success. He's not perfect, he admits through his behavior and puns, and that's just perfect. Snoop is in a class all by himself, and he leaves fans wanting to see more from him. But what else?
Snoop sees for miles through extra-dark lenses, smiles effortlessly, pulls off silver, glittery-frames rather fabulously, shines in delicate and neutral shades and walks through life in multi-colored, funky-textured shoes. If these traits and touches aren't Libra-Scorpio-Sagittarius enough for ya', I don't know what is. A Libra-Scorpio-Sagittarius combo assists Snoop 100% in omitting all the fluff from his decision-making, enabling him to envision, create and deliver his projects. Therefore, and needless to say, he's not going anywhere.
I am honored to share my sun sign, ascendant, Mercury and Venus with Snoop Dogg. His charm, ideas, intellect, sense of humor, fearlessness and street smarts continue to reside not just in the entertainment industry but all over. From setting the -izzle trend to giving drivers directions through a Tom-Tom GPS, from inspiring kids to work hard and play hard to mashing potatoes alongside Martha Stewart, this man is living proof of our capability to follow our visions and age like a fine wine if we so choose.
Snoop gives a lot and he earns a lot. Love him, hate him. With or without your consent, Snoop Dogg is off to his next triumph fo-shizzle.
Bow-wow-wow, yippie-yo, yippie-yay.
