engadgetI'm taking a huge chance here by hyping up a video of a rather graphic and dramatic, but realistic, nature produced by Peter Watkins-Hughes, a talented documentary artist and lecturer in Wales: a Public Service Announcement on Texting while Driving which really drives (no pun intended) a significant message home.
It should come as an embarrassment to many drivers this video, a detailed, heart-crushing f*cking demonstration intended to wake them up from their destructive self-importance, already. Texting has been ruled an impediment to driving, worse than alcohol and drug consumption, which easily and quickly erases at least 35% of a driver's focus. And yet, I witness douchenuggets behind a wheel, yapping on a cellphone or manipulating a pocket-sized device on a daily basis.
Oh, yeah. Warning: this fictitious but powerful material may not be suitable for sensitive viewers. Like me. I almost cried over the immense honesty and brilliance packaged into just four minutes and fifteen seconds of my time.

Part of me bemoans the utter thoughtlessness leading to tragedy of texting while driving, and part of me sees it as natural selection at work.
It has occurred to me most driving laws are rules to protect us from ourselves. We forget we are driving large, heavy objects often at a high rate of speed. Scares the pee out me when I really stop and think about it!! LOL
