The Montreal Botanical Garden and Insectarium

I wasn't going to subject anyone to additional photos of our recent trip to Montreal.  Ah, but I've changed my mind.  Because the only planned aspect of our charming and relaxing escape was a place to stay.  That enabled us to capture lovely images, some more fuzzy-wuzzy than others.  We winged it, the two of us taking up random suggestions from our hostess, Ann, at a moment's notice.

On one of the days, Ann suggested that we check out the Jardin Botanique (Botanical Garden).

"OK," we said.

And we did.

We couldn't have picked a nicer afternoon to explore a variety of flora...

... as well as an array of cultural gardens.

We made some new friends.  (For the record, I hated the butterfly house and wanted to set all the butterflies free).

We decided to tour the Insectarium, a whole fascinating, gross, fascinating, creepy and fascinating world in itself.

But first we used the restroom.

Strolling about, I realized that I wasn't a fan of the entrapment of bees, tarantulas, beetles, roaches, crickets and so forth.  However, we still learned a bit about insects.

For example, we learned that walkingsticks didn't waste any time.

And we recognized lessons in cooperation from honeybees.  (Deborah means "bee" in Hebrew, and so the line "each bee does a bit of everything during its lifetime" brought me a great deal of clarity.)

The Montreal Botanical Garden, although exhausting as f*ck'n hell to explore, was definitely worth a trip.
