Tea 'n Toast
Not that anyone needs to know this but...
Oh, f*ck it.
Something at my friend's Superbowl party, last night, made me violently ill from 4:30 AM 'til about 5:20 AM today. Simultaneous bouts of vomiting, chills and diarrhea (GROSS) -- the whole "shebang"-- nearly did away with my existence.
And, no, the cause of my violent illness was not the Buffalo wings I'd baked-- those were thoroughly cleansed and cooked, and Chris hadn't gotten sick from eating a number of them. Plus, we compared "menus" and there was ONE food item I had that he did not have (one that I'll keep to myself to spare another's feelings-- I'll just have to be a bit more careful/selective around this particular... species... from here on out).
On the other hand, I could have picked-up a nasty little germ from one of the chip bowls. Simple as that, huh?
Anyhoo, at 9:00 AM, I needed to cancel my plans with a friend due to a stomach virus (or adverse effect to a particular food item). But she resulted in awakening me from my near-dead state in bed post a series of "volcanic" bathroom eruptions.
"What's going on?" emanated from my cellphone. Er, after I'd pressed the right button on it.
I explained my dilemma as cleanly as possible to her.
"I don't know if I can eat anything, today," I said. "I mean, what can I possibly keep down?"
I felt really nauseous. Not to mention that it sounded like my organs were warring with one another.
"Just fluids, today. Tea. And maybe some toast."
And sleep, she'd forgotten to mention. Lots of it, for sleep was the only thing to get me through this hell.
So, now, I'm having tea and... toast.
Tea, first. Then toast.
We'll see how this turns out.
